HotFM
HotFM has
been broadcasting from Corralejo to the north of the island for around
three years now. However, last week it came out from underground and held
a party to celebrate the opening of its new studios in the la Bocaina
building behind Chablis.
In October
the radio station got some new owners in the form of Al and Val fro AVM
Kitchens, me and Mad Mik. One of our first objectives was to give the DJ's
premises that they deserved and we feel that we have fulfilled this.

The new local
at No 35 has a reception area, a transmission studio and a separate
recording studio to develop adverts and jingles.

At the launch
party, Mad Mik played the ever gracious host and provided us with some
nibbles.

Lots of local
business people and listeners came along for a drink and were invited to
go live on air to promote their services. Lots of people took advantage of
their 15 minutes of fame including....

Bill and
Michelle from Red Mountain and .....

... Trading
Post Trev - no stranger to a studio! - who took the opportunity to
announce the launch of a charity CD.
and of course
some people you just can't keep away from a mike....

.. and
talking of DJ's here's Trev making a pointed comment - about Maitland from
Whereabouts?

and Kennie,
being his usual charming self...

not
forgetting - and how could we - the Sara and Claire show!

There were
some old friends - hello John Birch - and some new ones - hello Paul, a
holidaymaker dragged into the party!

and although
there was plenty of booze to go around - Alan just couldn't resist trying
to nick Val's!

and all
through this the DJ's stoically carried on, first Kennie, then Neil and
ending up with Snowy - well done guys.

HotFM are
currently broadcasting on 104.6 in Corralejo and 96.6 across most of the
north of the island and some of Lanzarote. Our next plan is to reach
Caleta as well. You can also listen to us on the
internet.
So tune in and listen to a mix of 60's, 70's and 80's music as well as the
best of the rest. We also have a range of competitions, horoscopes,
weather, news - both UK/Ireland and local, and details of events going on.
