Prejudging ……….an exquisitely British pastime……
Rivalling gossip for first place on the podium of uselessness,
preconceptions are a crime committed on a daily basis.
People see the tattoos and then the individual….los serpientes
as my latino buddies call the dragons scraped into my upper
arms……en route there may be more ink to skin if only to rival
the pain of a current voyage along the route canals of my
dentists’ desire.
Recently fate dictated that a particular red wine drinking
British woman crossed my path. She was vociferous in her
distaste of body art and what, in her view, it said about an
individual, while inwardly I suggested to myself that
overweight unattractive and loud females were not really my
cuppa. But as befitting the new me, it remained a thought, and
my council was well and truly kept. There can be so much said
that really isn’t required ……empty barrels etc……….

So a move down the island has been undertaken………..a good move?,
remains to be seen. Central for other main parts of Fuerte not
just Castillo itself, but underneath a flight path. Handy if I
wanted to make a quick getaway…. only it appears to be arrivals
rather than departures!
Will try out Sotavento for my surf pictures and the blog ?
Initially I understand from a girl in a bar who at least knew
what I was talking about indicated there is WiFi around in the
town, will try that out soonest. In my last abode I was spoiled
by dial up, slow but on hand and of course it came with a phone
bill.
Oh and there are some nice bars, but before too long coke
drinking becomes a pain in the bladder.

Have been watching a little more TV all Spanish of course in an
effort to sustain my upward language learning curve, and some
of the subject matter has been strange or simply disturbing.
The carnival season has started …if it ever finished…. images
beamed from Tenerife of the Drag Carnival are to say the least,
different, and listening to a public opinion phone in, the
Saturday night spectacular show received a cool reception. The
colour and spectacle went down well but the content?, not so.
And I thought it was just me.
Alternatively the serious situation in Kenya and what seems to
be a perpetual struggle in the Holy Land makes any little
difficulties I may have pale into insignificance. Looking at
the images of suffering makes one wonder where will it all end?
I’ve been aware for some time that such reportage is served up
almost as entertainment.
So long as it’s not in our back yard ….huh?
What kind of day are you having?………
