Scottish
Guy Vs Bugs – In El Cotillo.
Remember I talked
to you about the Bird Man the other week, and his interest in
wildlife? Well there sure are a more exotic variety of things
that crawl than I first became aware of, some of it in my bedroom!
Not good. Don’t
like creepy things.
(He'd hate some
of these then! 'Ed)
I don’t know why,
but I have had difficulty sleeping, since I arrived, maybe it’s
because I indulge in the siesta, but regardless of when I hit
the hay I will wake up in the small hours, and remain that way
until my building pals turn up. Anyway as usual I have my bottle
of water beside the bed, but when I reached for it around 2
in the morning I disturbed what I think was a small roach, fortunately
trapping it under the bottle where it stayed until asphyxiation
took it’s toll. Cruel I hear you say? After that I was up with
the vacuum (sorry neighbours) and the mop and disinfectant.

I should have known,
as the girlfriend and I have already encountered Pedro, as she
is want to call them, in warm countries, but from now on, this
will be the cleanest apartment in Cotillo, the bug battle is
on!
And my building
buddies………….
Guest noise of the
week is being provided by a cement mixer, strategically placed
below my bedroom window, that starts work around 7.30. Oh sure,
Paco and his painter still gets wheeled out from time to time,
but I think that is simply to enhance the quality of annoyance,
these building guys are dedicated artisans, could it be I’m
starting to appreciate the different decibels? Or just going
bonkers? Answers on a postcard please.

But…it got better…

A pleasant experience
was a wander along to Los Lagos. Where, after a hunker in a
bunker for tan top up, I did a bit of snorkelling. The water
is so amazingly clear, and I was surprised at the amount of
fish, almost on a par with my scuba adventure at El Jablito.
But as usual my buoyancy was a problem, I have too much! Imagine
the Dorada thinking “Here comes the Scottish guy again” In Spanish
of course. But a recommended day out for any of you, even if
it is for the relative tranquillity compared to surf beach.

Oh well dear readers,
that’s another week gone,
Talk again soon.
