Jive Bunnies’ Birthday Bash.
Tony “ Jive Bunny” Baker was 64 years young on Tuesday, and to
mark the occasion, his partner, Ann organised a surprise
birthday bash for him, one of Corralejo's better-kept secrets
of the year so far, well everyone knew except the man himself.
The press were there in the shape of yours truly, having
escaped from El Cotillo for the night, and we (or rather Ann)
had dispensation from the local old bill for a little more
noise than usual. Busy girl that she is, she also laid on a
scrummy buffet and everyone ate drank and got very merry.
Tony has lived on the island for six years, and had the bar for
five. Originally from Devon, he shares a common denominator
with so many of we extranjeros on this rock, in that he arrived
almost by chance, and has been here ever since.
However my sources tell me the man is moving on, in the next
few months, or however long the authorities take to process the
necessary paperwork. The bar has been sold, and he and Ann are
going to follow the yellow brick road, to wherever it leads.
You will be sadly missed Tone, but we all move on eventually.
Be lucky, oh I almost forgot, happy birthday mate, and many
more of them.
