Yes the spelling is correct, if you are Spanish…. The event here seems to have been split between areas of the relevant Ayuntamiento in Antigua, and culminating here in Caleta de Fuste.

Friday night we enjoyed a trio calling themselves The Abba Show although I’m sure the original group had four members? We were also entertained by the Beethoven Brothers, a Beatles tribute whom went the whole deal including Sergeant Pepper outfits and Beatle haircuts.

Saturday night was literally a drag, a visual feast which was very well attended but I suspect like the TV opinion phone in of the other day, not everyone enjoyed what it appeared to represent.

Sunday was the turn of the procession with a relatively short but colourful variety of floats making their way around the streets before the fireworks were let off, the poor old sardine was burned (again) and the band began to play.

I understand there are more fiestas to come, I’ll be there with cameras…or should I just get a drum and join in the funk?…careful…. I said FUNK!

Hope you like the pictures………
