 HAIRBRAIN’S
SURF WEEK
No
chance I just like to watch my man surf, muscles
rippling and spitting out in the water which reminded me
of the big white back whale, not that Andy is fat.
It’s like watching football and rugby with all these men
spitting and blowing their noses, you would think that
they would realize it turns us women OFF.
Men can be so nice but some habits YUK!!!
Well Andy is now a proud new owner of a handmade and
personalized Surf Board and he is like a dog with a big
-----------.
Andy has
been attending a Surf School in Lajares owned by
JEAN_FRANCIOS SICRE known to us locals as JEFF, us
English do not quite get our tongues around such a sexy
name. Jeff has 10 years experience in surfing and
teaches to high levels enabling you to receive official
and recognized diplomas.
He has
special training days for children and also encourages
them with competitions and I must admit he is very
patient and very safety conscious.

can contact him as his brother Julian builds beautiful
boards in the traditional way “handshape” and can
personalize them to your own design.
These
boards seem quite sacred to these surfers in fact I
would say Andy is very proud of his as it stands proudly
in our bedroom and looks over as we sleep, us including
the 2 cats and TOBY THE DOG.
Waxing the
board, what is that well I have learnt how to rub wax in
the board it was just like when we were kids and we
rubbed candles on the slides in the playground and hoped
your friends glossed it up and they flew miles, the
difference Andy said is the wax stops them sliding
off???
So now
every Saturday I am a surf chick but only sitting on the
beach sunning and reading so strenuous watching Andy
paddle out then ride the ”swells” (surf slang for wave)
see I’m learning.
Great life
your thinking, yes for Andy as this week I am a golf
widow as he is in Gran Canaria with the Corralejo golf
Society, I hope he does not win anything as I live in an
apartment and all these trophies, where do you put
them?????
Just joking as I spoke to him tonight and he is doing
well the only drawback he is sharing a room with Grumpy
and a double bed at that????
What have I been up to, a day out with my mate Carla and
we went to a friends house and made use of their spa and
swimming pool .The spa has a sweet temp of 36 degrees
and sipping bucks fizz and gossiping that's what us
girls love, oh and a few nibbles. The skin did wrinkle a
bit as we stayed in so long but who cares” Tranquillo.”
In the
evening we had to have our fix of Karaoke so we went to
“FLICKS” where we had to wait for John the owner and his
daughter Tara to finish there debut.
We sang a few songs and then home to bed but as usual a
great time and next week the two big brothers are here
so I will have to be on my best behaviour!
