PRE CHRISTMAS AND I AM EXHAUSTED!

Even though the sun is shining and it is 20 degrees Christmas it is still creeping upon us and the shops certainly have gone to the English suppliers and not really thought why we all left the U.K.

I must first start with “I have a confession “
The new shop Iceland was calling me so I had to give in so I went in head down, especially after my comment last week on their prices. I certainly was surprised so I bought Toasty toppers, Branston pickle (for cold turkey on the beach) Bisto, pickled onions, cranberry juice, diced Swede and button sprouts. Sad or what but I must say the people who own it were very nice and what a lovely clean shop and it was nice buying a little of what we are used to. I will certainly being making another visit soon and I might say “hi I am Elaine and I was the only English Hairdresser in Corralejo” (now that’s another story as in 4 years has this place evolved or just become an extension of the U.K.)

Well that’s the food sorted so Sue my friend who loves to wear pink decided to go to the real shops in Puerto Del Rosario where they have moving staircases (only this year and 1st on the island) to purchase our Xmas pressies and do lunch!!!

Shop we did, I finished Andy’s and even bought some beautiful black & white wrapping paper, bit more macho for my man. What a day - I was waiting for Jeremy Beadle to pop out as every time Sue touched anything, it either fell on her head or clattered to the floor, me I just strolled away and left her trying to redisplay these items and she’s blonde too.

Joking aside it was great to see all the effort gone into the Xmas displays especially the Christmas tree decorated with marsh mallows; yes I pinched one, and was I glad I was not paying the electric bill.
Shopping nearly complete so home James to wrap the gifts before he sees them or see what money I spent as my new black boots you would die for.(I had to buy myself a pressie just incase I didn’t get enough)

Pre Xmas party at Bugaloo.
This party was being held for all our friends that were returning to the U.K. for Xmas so it has to be done, drinking and dancing until the early hours.
There was a fancy dress comp but there were only three participants 1st, 2nd, 3rd.
Leanne and Michael were 1st as peace be upon you hippies.

Natasha 2nd as a very sexy mummy Xmas.

Carla (who does my nails) was 3rd as a very very sexy mummy Xmas.

We arrived at about 8-30pm and it was very quiet then Bang about 40 people arrived and we were even spilling on the street, Smirnoff Ice for me and after about 4 I did not realize what a mover I was.
How come when women get drunk we all love each other and kiss and hug and I must say have such a good time.

Lyn and Colin now can they move but then our Colin is the Northern Soul man, he is normally so shy but when those notes blasted out could he move??
Stuee our D.J., what music he played such brill music but would not play Abba, now I love Abba and all night I would send people up asking for them but he just crossed his fingers and Vomited. I even whispered in his wife’s Nicky ear but alas NO!

The Beatles and the Stones blasted out and we all grabbed our microphones (coke bottles) and sang and screeched “Can’t buy me love No everybody tells me so” but after the amount we all spent on booze, everybody was loving everybody innocently I must add.

Andy is nodding asleep on a not so sturdy stool and my throat is closing over and the vocals are nil so home we must stroll.

We kiss all goodbyes and A merry Xmas to those who are leaving on a jet plane to celebrate this festive season on British soil.
“Thank you for the music” Stuee blew me a kiss and smiled. One last song then we all joined hands and joined Abba singing, THANKS STUEE.

Sunday was a hangover so I wrote this, as I could not certainly talk. Crumpets and a cup of tea that was all I could muster.
Crumpets were from Iceland lovely jubbly.
Such a quiet life and I just remembered my Brother and his wife Rachael are over Jan 3rd so I had better maybe have a few early nights.
Merry Xmas to all my readers and family and friends and I will be thinking of you Lots of love xxxxxx
