HAPPY NEW YEAR TO
ALL MY FRIENDS.
2008 A.D.I t just sounds so strange to people like me
who grew up in 70’s 80’s, I always remember thinking
2000 was Space age and we would be driving around in
little cars hovering above ground but here we are still
partying, drinking and still using our wobbly and
unstable legs to find our way home. Maybe they should
invent a G.P.S. so we could attach to our selves and it
would home in on home and point us in the right
direction.
Well that’s enough of the blonde moments, I bet you're
wondering if we had a quiet Christmas.
Still the excitable child in me, up at 7.30AM on the
morn waiting to open my presents, Andy bleary eyed and
still a little hung over from the night before drags his
feet upstairs (yes we live in upside down house)

Toby and the cats following and me screaming “look the
animals are excited too”.
Andy just gives me that look “Calm down they are one
hour late for their breakfast”.

They were going to open there presents whether they
wanted to or not, but then I had sprayed them with Cat
nip and food smells for Toby’s. Andy’s I sprayed with
Lager, Just joking????
Toby would like to thank Kevin &Sally for his hat and
lovely sack which Father Xmas filled well.

I won’t bore you what Father Xmas had bought us but we
had a BIG SACK EACH and my letter to Father ANDY XMAS
must have got through all the postal strikes etc.
Back to bed for a couple of hours then visiting.
Firstly our German next-door neighbours for Christmas
songs and a glass of Pink Champagne, Catrina, Gerhart
and their daughter Anna had Andy dancing around the Xmas
tree and singing in German. Rudolph still pronounced the
same but with that phlegm in the throat, we could have
sang “Adolph the red nose reindeer” but it doesn’t have
that ring.

Next a visit to Sue and Trevs for yet another tipple but
as we were driving good old English TEA. Best drink of
the day for me especially when served with chocolates.
Sue knows what I like.
Sue ‘s present to me was very apt, a pair of Marigold
rubber gloves but slightly glamorised, as you would
expect. Leopard print and lace cuffs with a beautiful
purple diamond ring on the third finger, Andy said “Your
not going to use them for cleaning are you? Just what
was he thinking !!!!!!!!
They were too nice, definite evening out accessories.
We now drive home and decide to take Toby on the
beach and stroll, I mean what else do you do on
Christmas morning but walk on the beach in the sun
wearing only shorts and Tee-shirt.OOPs sorry I forgot it
was minus 4 in the U.K.!!!!!!!!!!

I must say Xmas day was just a stroll at one o’clock to
Blue Rock for roast pork rolls and wonderful roast
potatoes followed by a little tipple, we sat there in
the sun for a couple of hours then went to Rogues
Gallery for our desert of mince pies. A kissing and
wishing everyone a Merry Xmas but how could it get much
merrier than this.

Six o’clock we strolled home thinking what a wonderful
Xmas dinner and all free and seeing nice people as a
bonus.
Cheese and biscuits now at home.
Bedtime, we were all tucked in bed and asleep on Xmas
night by 8-oclock and as you can see that includes two
cats and Toby.

Boxing Day but not here as the Spanish are all back to
work as there Xmas day is the 6th January when we have
the Three Kings arrive on their camels collecting the
lists from the children for their presents, (will show
you in my next issue as my brother is here then)
Right Boxing day Glitter party at The Plaza, Everyone
face shining and sparkling as Carla grabbed everyone as
they arrived at the door and insisted they blend.

Evening gowns and the jewellery was all blinding but
after a few drinks we certainly all blended and danced
the night away, and Sue and her daughter Jayde won 1st
and 2nd prize for the dancing .How do they contort so
much, ah young bones??

In bed by 3-oclock, now you can see why early night
before, although I must add the bacardi does make you
sleepy.
What else did we do, well Andy went fishing with his new
rod but he said he thought all the fish had gone away
for Xmas too.

NEW YEARS EVE
Andy and I decided a
romantic night dinner at Bar Luna followed by dancing,
so a typical night Spanish Fiesta,
We tried dancing the Salsa etc but us English don’t
quite seem to have that hip movement, maybe a bit of the
stiff upper lip syndrome but you would think after
supping champagne you would loosen up .We looked more
like we were moving to Y.M.C.A and the Village People.

Great night as all the
staff, who we know well as Bar Luna is Andy’s local,
they were so happy even though it was NEW YEARS EVE and
they were all working, in fact you would have thought it
was there party.
They even sang for us.

Oh I forgot to tell you what food we were served.
MENU
Soup.
Lobster.
Sorbet.
Fillet steak.
Crepes served in chocolate and banana sauce.
And of course Champagne.

We had a lovely time and
in the last 5 years here it has got better as progress
is happening here, although slow really nice.
Happy New Year to all my mates and friends in the U.K
and I do not miss the cold only all of you.
I will be in the U.K. on the 16th January, have to have
a check up on my young eyes.
