HEY I’M
BACK
Can’t believe it’s 3 weeks since I have written an
account of my life but then it has been a bit boring .No
visitors no parties in fact very quiet, only sunny and
warm that is what all the tourists say but to us locals
it is winter.
We all stay in more and hibernate with no B.B.Q.s or
pool parties, well it is 15/16 degrees at night and a
lot of my friends turn on their electric blankets and
wear bed socks. My lovely cats, oh and me just cuddle up
to Toby and Andy!!!
So what have I been up to, well it is Sunday morning and
24 degrees and no wind so a ferry trip to Lanzarote
(this time of year you have to use every sunny day.)

I love the trip across on the old Ferry and standing on
deck at the rear of the boat staring at our apartment on
the water’s edge thinking how lucky we are living in
this Paradise.

If we had still been living in Torquay there is no way
we could live in such a wonderful position overlooking
such beautiful blue sea and cost so little.
Imagine saying to friends just popping over to Lanzarote
for lunch, fancy a trip???
Well lunch was not champagne or caviar just a plate of
Pappa Fritas (CHIPS),THEY WERE DELICIOUS.

As you can see Andy really enjoyed them.
A little shopping then back home to Corralejo as the dog
needed a walk and even that is a pleasure especially
when the Wally Trolley chugs by and Toby and I smile and
wave at the tourists knowing in a few days they have to
go back to the cold and wet and we will still be here in
the sun.

Now Tuesday and we visit our new friends Jim &Ann from
bonny Scotland for lunch a and a few drinks and guess
what he also has a Karaoke machine so I was really at
home and as you can see so was Toby.

Talking about views just now , look at this wonderful
volcano that’s stands proud over their villa, that it is
so awesome.

Ann and I discuss things as women do and the men gamble
on who is going to win the table tennis but after that
many beers it was anyone’s guess.

Thursday again and yes a night out with the Scotties Ann
and Jim again we all had a lovely delicious meal in
Gibson’s served by the lovelies Clare and Caroline and
then went to the new auditorium where an African Blues
band were playing.

Considering 4 years ago you could not buy even an oxo
cube here and now this really modern building immerged
where the other week they showed a Grease production,
although it was in Spanish the songs were still the
same. It is changing here so fast.
African blues well they entered on stage three Laurence
of Arabia’s with modern guitars and monster speakers, we
were so excited culture at last to this island.
Wrong the noise was horrific and we all just looked at
each other in between the duck sound from the guitars to
the wailing of Arabs, not blues, as we know it.
Four songs later we think as we could not tell when one
ended and another commenced we discreetly sneaked out
and went for a drink to calm our nerves.
Roll on Saturday a night out with my best mate Sue and
the two new Scots Ann, Jim plus another couple June& Ron
also from Bonny Scotland. Whats wrong there that they
are all are emigrating here and they all have much
Haggis in their freezers.????

Café Central is the venue for tonight a classy Italian
restaurant in Corralejo by the marina.

Large Gin&Tonics and beautiful real homemade pasta
dishes and the great thing is when you get your bill
they present you with a huge dish of jelly tots and as
you can see my mate Sue scoffed the lot.!!!!

We all need to dance of some calories now so off to the
Plaza where a free real Blues concert is being held with
real British bands especially a great band named Nine
Below Zero.
The sounds and lighting were fab and dance we all did
until 1.0clock in the morning then off to Alpha 11 for
our usual Karaoke.

My legs were shaking, my head spinning and my ears were
ringing with my friends and their awful karaoke noise
but I must admit they were better than the Arabs
Thursday.(now you know how bad it must have been)
So 2.oclock we all put our watches forward and arrived
home at 3.30am not bad especially as we all met at
7.0clock.
Well that’s all for this week and yes I am wore out but
tomorrow the day of golf and the party at night but
that’s the next tale.
