MY BESTEST
MATE AND HER TWO CHILDREN
Ali
my bestest mate has been to visit with Adriene and Stephanie.
Granny accompanied them to make sure they all have a good time.
Now Margaret (granny) is a young gran and what a laugh we all
had from boat trips to bungee jumping and delicious food and
a little booze!!!
By the end of the week the girls had more lollies than Kojak
but that does mean we all had to have a little tipple after
our meal, free of course so they tasted better.
Let me explain every time they all went out for a meal at the
end when you got the bill, the grown-ups got a choice of liqueurs
and the children a lolly and sometimes a handful, I would imagine
all the restaurants here must buy them in thousands,
One
early evening we took a ride to El Capitan restaurant in El
Cotillo and we sat on the terrace watching the sun set.
To eat we had the FISH OF THE DAY and that was a fish about
18 inches long and baked in a salt jacket and after one hour
they bring it to your table, pour Pernod all over and then whoosh
fish inferno, flames everywhere.
The
waiter then cracks open the salt jacket and fillets the fish
and removed the bones and serves it up on a warm plate. Wonderful
especially when served with a cooled bottle of white wine, except
I was driving so aqua sin gas was all I got, but a fantastic
evening and well worth a visit.
A day later the Glass bottom boat, these things have to be done,
a choppy, windy ride to say the least but I must add my mate
Ali is a planner so we all swallowed a seasick pill before we
boarded and was I glad she is so clever, she had us all lined
up mouth open and popped it i. Never have I been so glad to
listen to her.
The only thing is I drank a beer on the boat and mixed with
the pill, when I arrived home I literally passed out and slept
for an hour.
The glass bottom boat, well two pieces of glass 4 foot long,
18 inches wide was our viewing area and I must admit on the
boat were only about ten people, I dread if it was busier how
the bodies could have even got near the area, but then who really
wants to see fish saying BOB BOB and gulping yesterdays bread.
But I must say we had all paid 16 euros each for this pleasure!!!!!
Finding
our land legs we wandered back to Bristol Playa where they were
staying and I must say a lovely complex, so clean and right
on the sea front. They also have fantastic plants and such colour,
beautiful pinks and yellows and the biggest Geraniums I have
ever seen.
Chill
out time and you could find Ali & her mum having a quick
game of cards to see who pays for dinner and the girls with
their portable D.V.D players - such progress. I
did ensure the girls walked Toby and they loved him and he just
sucked up the attention. I would say he enjoys our visitors
more than us and they all bring him presents. He has his own
Toy Box.!!!!
I
needed some more travel sickness pills the next day when we
all headed down to the bungee jumping park. Luckily (for me)
they said I was too grown up to have a go, so we left the girls
to it and stayed in the shade supping and chatting.
The
girls really did have a good time though and weren't scared
at all - in fact they looked very elegant and like they were
doing ballet in the air. I like this pic, cos it looks like
she's on top of the crane - like a Christmas Fairy!
You
would have thought that the girls would have had anough of all
that jumping around, but no, they then headed off to the trampolines
for a go. Another round for us please!
The
Last night and I am sad but eat we must, Avelinos looking out
to Lanzarote with the biggest Paella served with prawns, chicken
and of course squid, was our choice and a very good one too..
Two
bottles of wine later and two very tired girls. Back to the
hotel for last time, hugs and kisses and maybe see you next
year. This bit is the hardest but time seems to go very quick
and maybe I will have to go soon for my retail therapy???
Thanks
Ali and girls ...........
