THE BALLET & JETSETTING TO THE U.K.

Yes the St Petersburg Ballet Company presented SWAN LAKE here in Fuerteventura.
We were a little dubious what to expect, as this is the first cultural presentation to be performed here.
The new auditorium seats 400 people and the lighting and sound system were brilliant, we all waited with baited breath and suddenly the beautiful familiar music blasted out and the graceful young swan like girls drifted on to the stage in glistening white TUTU’S
Following on behind four black tutu’s.(WITH GIRLS)

It was magical and the performance was as good as any Ballet I had seen in the U.K.
The male dancers were certainly well endowed and as we were in the front row it was a little bit of an eyeful, but I am not one to complain.!!!
Molly my friend did have a little dose but Sue woke her up in time to applaud.

It was a great evening and the tickets were only 25 euros each as the local council subsidise the event for the Spanish and considering there were quite a few children there you could have heard a pin drop as the children had probably never seen a ballet before and were in trances.

Let’s hope they plan more, as it felt so good having a different night out.

As I was still flying high off I go now to the U.K. FOR MY USUAL SHOPPING THERAPY.

First stop Bristol with Marty my brother and his wife Nita and I wonder what they have planned for one so quiet as myself.

Yippee Weston-Super-Mud (Mare) and I was not disappointed the mud was in full view and the children on the beach with their mudpacks to the knees.

We ate Fish &Chips sat on the wall watching the Infamous donkeys and realizing there was a weight restriction to riding these docile things but I did not want a ride anyway!!

Maybe before the fish &chips?
Bugger it I thought so a big Mr Whippy ice cream to follow and inserted was a delicious flake, but alas Nita took one lick and plop on the floor it went and suddenly there was an invasion of seagulls all fighting who could get the flake.
Me I was gone as I have already experienced them before living in Torquay, Dive bombers, even taking chips from your mouth and also with that amount flying around one was definitely going to drop something in my hair.

Weston used to be the place I went in my teens and it was like stepping back in time as nothing had changed even the types of people were the same including the old and I mean old Hells Angels were cruising up and down the prom with there now long grey hair blowing in the wind.
The pensioners strolling and some being pushed in wheelchairs and licking ice creams.

The children buried up to their necks on the beach, but the mud maybe will keep them youthful.
Home now but not before we purchased, some sweets, like I said back in time coconut chips, pear drops, rainbow crystals (yellow finger) rhubarb &custard drops, you name it they had it, so nostalgic.

Trendy night out in Bristol next with Nita’s sons, What an eye-opener that was nothing like my karaoke nights in Corralejo and a lot more expensive 30 pounds a round of drinks????

A lovely pub by the river and waterfront to warm me up and then WOW, so many people and so loud and with so little clothes on, no one overdressed except me.
The sons in there 30’s certainly showed me the town and made me realize why I went to Fuerteventura.
The most amazing discovery was the civilised men emptying their bladders in the street and poking their willies through the railings and peeing in the river even though the council have these incredible portal loos ejecting up from the roads after 11.00oclock What a waste??? Literally.
As you can see by the photos I did really have quite a good time.

I stayed in bed late next day to get a little rest before I take the train to Torquay where the pub rats make me welcome as usual in my old local The Lord Nelson.

My wonderful friends Patty and Sheila joined us and did we talk and talk and talk.

My special friend Tracey popped in to see me and that was a nice surprise.

I must say in between all this socializing I was shopping for a few clothes??????
The weather was so wonderful and sunny. In fact so warm I had my meals in the garden with my in-laws.

I have added a photo of their lovely garden with the bluebells and cowslips growing and the trees really blossoming.

Our uncle Gabes proudly showed me his pride and joys. Cauliflowers and were they big, the one he gave me to bring back for Andy weighed 2 .5 kilos, cost me extra in excess luggage but did I care NO as it was picked the morning I came back so was so fresh.

Time to go back to Fuerte now but I certainly had a wonderful time so thanx to you all for making me so welcome.and giving me a quiet holiday quiet did I say!!!!!
LUV YA
