The New A Team Thank You Party Last week reported on a lovely example of love thy neighbour by telling you the story of Bill and Cathy Meacham whose apartment was devastated by a fire. Their neighbours clubbed together and contributed money and time and got them their home back. Last Sunday, Bill and Cathy threw a party to thank the people they have now labelled the A team. Here are just some of them.
And what a thank you it was. The tables were laden with food and there was not just one, but two barbeques on the go, including a wonderful one that rotated and held four chickens...Tubo's idea of paradise!
There was a great mix of people there including this Czech couple who are helping Richard to restore the wonderful Casa Lily on Cotillo beach.
and of course no party is complete without the local publican - in this case, Bernie!
Inside the apartment the only sign of the fire I detected was a a smoke stain on a candle. The A team had done a wonderful job and Bill and Kathy are over the moon about it!
However, some people never learn and as I left, what was Bill doing - lighting a fire!! But it was in an old bath and well away from the house!
Thanks for a lovely party Bill and Cathy and since I put this story up I have had lots of people come up to me to tell me how they loved the story, so thanks as well to both you and the A team for making many people feel good!
